Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions

- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
